Today, I want to bring you an update from one of your favorite social networks, Pinterest!
Pinterest says that searches for “support small business” have recently increased over 350%, as Pinners look for individual makers and companies to shop online. As they understand that these are tough times especially for small businesses, Pinterest has introduced expanded resources for small businesses in response to their needs in this crisis.
One such support service is they’ve organized key information and resources in one #StandForSmall central hub – from which I’ve been sharing a selected few that helps globally, over the past couple of weeks.

Here’s How Pinterest Supports Small Businesses
- Stay Safe. Stay Inspired. board: Pinterest has shared a collection of the best content on the platform to help Pinners manage the situation and feel their best. In addition, this is one giant pool of content for you to share on most of your social media so if you’re struggling with content creation, check this out!
- Product Catalogs: Tool making it easy to upload your full product catalog to Pinterest and easily turn your product listings into shoppable Pins. This is connected to Pinterest Shopping.
Pinterest Catalogs is NOT available globally at this time. Only businesses in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom & the United States can create Catalogs on Pinterest. Pinterest is also testing this with some merchants in Germany, France, Italy and Spain and I hope it will be made global soon. - The Pinterest Shop: They have set up a destination where people can discover and buy products from creators, makers and small businesses.
Pinterest shopping is also only available for businesses that can create Catalogs. So, if you’re from one of the locations listed, check out how to create a Pinterest shop, here.
- Verified Merchant Program: Free program providing more exposure for your business by showing shoppers your profile and Pins met Pinterest guidelines. This is currently only available for US businesses. However, Pinterest says they would start accepting applications in other countries later this year. So, Fill out the form at the bottom of this page so you’ll be the first to know when international applications are available.

- Tips to help your small business during trying times: These tips would help you stay connected to your customers using Pinterest’s free products.
- How to communicate with Pinners in a time of crisis: Pinterest reports an all-time high usage. This gives you a useful Guide, which is a 1-page FREE download [no email needed] for striking the right tone in your interactions with your customers on the platform.
- Pinterest Academy: This is a great online course on how to use Pinterest to grow your business and it’s FREE!
- Pinterest Business: If you haven’t yet converted your Pinterest account into a Business account, you can do so by scrolling down on this page to find the red “Sign up” button to get a business account.
Last, but not the least,
- Share your Story: If you’ve already been using Pinterest for some time and have reaped the benefits, Pinterest is looking out for stories like yours. They may feature your story in emails, blogs and more, so other businesses can learn from your success and this would definitely give you some amazing global awareness..
